Advanced Medical System

Usage

The keybind to open the UI is O. This keybind is changeable for each player by going into the keybinds and changing it.

Connect to players

To connect the UI to nearby players, open the UI then press the plus icon to the left of the name and select the target player.

Player stats explained.

Pulse

Pulse also known as heart rate or BMP (beats per minute) is the amount of beats the heart can do each minute. The pulse can be anywhere from 0-250 with 80bpm being considered ideal.

Blood pressure

Blood pressure is shown in two values, systolic and diastolic usually described as ‘’x over y’’

An ideal blood pressure is 90/60 – 130/80, anything below or above that should be corrected.

Oxygen saturation

This value simulates the blood’s oxygen saturation with anything between 95-100% being ideal.

When the oxygen saturation starts to dip below that, medical intervention is needed.

Revive states.

There are currently 4 ways to revive a critically injured player.

  1. The first and most used way to revive is when a player is in ‘’last stand’’ or the first stage of death, where they still have a heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation, even though it may be very low.

To heal a player in this state, all you need to do is bandage and sew all their external wounds and inject them with a shot of epinephrine. Once they’re back on their feet you might need to inject them with a pack of either blood or saline, depending on how much blood they have lost. Take a minute or so to check their pulse and blood pressure so that they are within an ideal range before letting them go.

If the player is fully dead or in asystole (when your heart’s electrical system fails entirely, which causes your heart to stop pumping.)

  1. The second revive method is by performing CPR.

Depending on how the server owner on your server has set up the ambulance job, it might be enough to just perform CPR on a patient in asystole to bring them back to life. If not you might need to use defib shocks, as described below.

   2. The third revive method is the defibrillator. If the player is in asystole you can place down an ECG monitor, hookup the patient to it and charge it up.

It’s recommended to start below 100 joules charge and then ramp it up after each failed electric shock. Defibrillators can also be used on patients with abnormal heart rhythms, such as vFib or torsades. These will be shown on an ECGor ICU monitor display when the patient is hooked up to one.

   2. The fourth revive method is using the revive kit.

This item will instant revive the player and restore all player values to normal. It essentially acts as an admin revive if you’re unable to revive a player using any other methods, or are in a pickle.

Health and blood regeneration.

For a player to begin regenerating health, blood and reducing pain, they must be in a ‘stable’ condition. This means their blood pressure and heart rate (BPM) must be within livable rangesBlood pressure and fall outside the ideal range and still allow regeneration, as long as it remains reasonable. Similarly, a BPM as low as 40 can enable regeneration, even though the ideal is 60 or higher.

In addition to maintaining stable blood pressure, BPM and oxygen saturation, all wounds must be bandaged. However, wounds that still require stitching won’t prevent regeneration, as long as there are no open wounds present.

Stretcher.

How it works.

The stretcher supports both target resources and text-ui.

The basics.

  1. Spawn the stretcher by using the inventory item.
  2. Pickup the stretcher by interacting with it either with text-ui or target
  3. Press E to place down the stretcher when holding it.

Options.

  • Pickup – This option makes you pickup and hold the stretcher enabling you to walk around with it with players on it.
  • Player in/out – this option picks up the nearest player that is not you and places them on the stretcher. This option also removes the player from the stretcher if there is any. If you have a player on a stretcher and you place down the stretcher within 2 meters of a medical bed in the hospital the player will transport you over to the bed directly.
  • Fold – by using the fold stretcher, the stretcher will fold into a flat version enabling you to place players inside body bags on them.

ICU SCREENS.

Information.

The green value and graph displayed at the top of the screen is the patient’s pulse.

The red value is the patient’s systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

The blue value and graph is the patient’s oxygen saturation and is displayed in %.

The orange value is the patient’s body temperature.

At the bottom is the ICU screens index and is the number that’s going to be displayed in a code blue alarm.

Code blue.

A code blue alarm gets triggered when a ICU monitor with a player hooked up to it is displaying critical values, e.g. extremely low pulse, bp or oxygen sat.

When a code blue alarm is triggered and the terminal screens start displaying code blue alarm, along with the sounding alarm, an interaction point on the ICU monitor that triggered the alarm is created that allows the player to stop a code blue alarm when they have reached the patient.

Medical Items

Morphine

Morphine impacts the players pain and pulse, and can in turn affect the players blood pressure. This medication is aimed to reduce a player’s pain level and/or pulse/bp.

It is generally recommended to use this in most types of care as it reduces the pain significantly and in turn reduces the pulse and potential screen effects of the patient.

Do not use this if the patient has a low blood pressure as this medication will lower that even more into potential critical levels. Stabilise the patient first.

Epinephrine

Epinephrine, also known as adrenaline, impacts the player’s pain and pulse. This medication will cause increased pulse and a slightly reduced pain level.

This can be used as an alternative to morphine in some cases as it reduces pain levels but also increases the pulse leading to a bump in blood pressure. So make sure that it keeps within stable levels. Another use case for epinephrine is if the patient has an unusually low pulse or blood pressure that needs a boost.

Propofol

Propofol is a fast-acting sedative that is used to induce or maintain  sedation in a patient. It quickly reduces consciousness, which is helpful in surgical or diagnostic situations.

Blood pack

The blood pack item comes in two variations, 250ml and 500ml. These items, when injected into the player, will increase the player’s blood levels.

These can be used whenever the patient has lost blood, but keep in mind to try and ration these. If the patient has minor blood loss but is in stable condition, they will regenerate the blood to normal level over time.

Saline

The saline pack also comes in two variations, 250ml and 500ml. This works essentially the same way as blood packs with the difference of it giving the player less blood. (this will be default have a larger stock in the medical store)

Try to use this instead of blood packs if you are in short supply.

Sewing kit

The sewing kit prevents packaged wounds from reopening.

Try to stitch wounds together as soon as possible to prevent them from reopening, causing pain and bleeding.

Body bag

Put ‘’declared dead’’ players inside these body bags for transport to the morgue. These body bags can be placed on the stretcher when in a folded position. (when a player is put inside a body bag they are not removable until respawn or relog)

Pager

Use this item to relay information to the hospital through the terminal screens.

Tourniquet

Tourniquets are able to be placed on all limbs to temporarily stop the bleeding, but is also causes increased pain.

Advised to be used on limbs with major trauma to prevent the patient from dying of blood loss.

Xray

If you find that a body part is coloured in dark yellow and has the description ‘’needs x-raying’’ the patient might experience motor function issues, even if there are no external wounds. On these occasions applying splints is appropriate.

When having a patient in the hospital with a yellow body part, titled with ‘’need x-raying’’ they will of course need to be x-rayed. Place the patient in a xray and interact with the adjacent x-raying monitor (determined in the config).

After an xray imaging has been completed, the patient’s body part in the medical ui will be updated. It will now display the body parts bone highlighted in red, meaning it is fractured. The EMS will now have to treat the injury by applying a cast.

Skelly

By using the chat command ‘’/skelly’’ or the default keybind ‘’K’’, (which can be changed in the settings). This function serves to provide an injury overview to every player, even if they don’t have access to open the medical ui

changing the place and size of the skelly, can be found by using ‘’/editskelly’’ or the default keybind ‘’U’’, which can also be changed in the clients own key bindings. To change the place of the skelly, simply drag the top section, where it says ‘’drag here’’ and drag to a desired location on the screen. When finished, press ENTER, to change the size of the skelly, simply drag the bottom right corner to the desired size.
